Dr. David Harris comes to Mid-America Orthopedics bringing a function-focused, non-surgical perspective in his practice. He completed his medical education at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Kirksville, Missouri. He then completed his residency training at the University of Missouri, where he served as Chief Resident.

As a specialist in PM&R, Dr. Harris' focus is on restoring function and quality of life for patients suffering from disorders and injuries of the nerve, muscles, and joints (including the spine). Dr. Harris is specialty-trained to perform electrodiagnostic studies such as electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS). While in medical school Dr. Harris took an additional year to do an undergraduate fellowship in manual medicine, which gave him specialty training in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy—manual techniques designed to optimize skeletal mechanics and improve physical function.

Dr. Harris specializes in non-surgical treatments including soft tissue and intra-articular joint injections, spasticity treatments such as botulinum toxin (Botox) injections and baclofen pump management, physical therapy prescription, adaptive equipment assessment, medical management, and fluoroscopic- guided spine injections. Raised in the inter-mountain west, Dr. Harris loves the outdoors. He enjoys running, mountain biking, and cross-country. He enjoys playing sports—especially soccer. He is a beekeeper hobbyist. Despite his many interests, Dr. Harris' favorite activity is spending time with his wife and three children.
